伯牛［1］有疾，子问之，自牖［2］执其手，
曰：“亡［3］之，命矣夫！斯人也而有斯疾也！
斯人也而有斯疾也！”
Po-niu being ill, the Master went to ask for
him. He took hold of his hand through the window,
and said, “It is killing him. It is the appointment of
Heaven, alas! That such a man should have such
a sickness! That such a man should have such a
sickness!”
【注释】［1］伯牛：冉耕，字伯牛，孔子弟子。
［2］牖（y6u）：窗户。［3］亡（w%）：无，
没有。
【译文】弟子伯牛得了病，孔子去探问，从窗
外握着他的手，说：“没办法啊，这是命呀！
