乡人饮酒，杖者出，斯出矣。乡人傩［1］，
朝服而立于阼阶［2］。
When the villagers were drinking together,
on those who carried staffs going out, he went out
immediately after. When the villagers were going
through their ceremonies to drive away pestilential
influences, he put on his court robes and stood on
the eastern steps.
【注释】［1］傩（nu5）：腊月驱逐疫鬼的仪式。
［2］阼（zu7）阶：东边的台阶，是主人迎送
宾客站立的地方。
【译文】同乡里人一起喝酒，结束时等老年人
出去以后，自己再出去。乡里人举行驱逐疫
鬼的仪式，自己穿着朝服站在东边的台阶上。
