子曰：“若圣与仁，则吾岂敢！抑为之
不厌，诲人不倦，则可谓云尔已矣。”公西华曰：
“正唯弟子不能学也。”
The Master said, “The sage and the man of
perfect virtue; — how dare I rank myself with them?
It may simply be said of me, that I strive to become
such without satiety, and teach others without
weariness.” Kung-hsi Hwa said, “This is just what
we, the disciples, cannot imitate you in.”
【译文】孔子说：“若说圣与仁，那我怎敢当！
不过努力学习不厌烦，耐心教人不厌倦，只
可以说是如此而已罢了。”公西华说：“这
正是我们弟子不能学到的。”
【解读】谦虚是一种大美德，孔子称自己“若圣
