子语鲁大师乐。曰：“乐其可知也：始作，
翕如［1］也；从之，纯如［2］也， 如［3］也，
绎如［4］也，以成。”
The Master instructing the grand music master
of Lu said, “How to play music may be known.
At the commencement of the piece, all the parts
should sound together. As it proceeds, they should
be in harmony while severally distinct and flowing
without break, and thus on to the conclusion. ”
【 注 释】［1］ 翕（x~） 如： 盛， 形 容 音 乐 突 起
而盛貌。音乐合奏突起，如群鸟振翅，引人
入胜，故曰翕如。［2］纯如：精纯和谐，不
杂乱。［3］皦（ji2o）如：分明，清晰，即何
晏《论语集解》所说的“音节明也”。［4］
绎如：延续不绝，即邢昺《论语注疏》所说
