dared not breathe. When he came out from the
audience, as soon as he had descended one step, he
began to relax his countenance, and had a satisfied
look. When he had got to the bottom of the steps,
he advanced rapidly to his place, with his arms like
wings, and on occupying it, his manner still showed
respectful uneasiness.

怡怡：轻松和悦。
【译文】孔子进入国君之门时，弯曲敛缩着身子，
好像容不下自己。站立时，不站在门中央；
行走时，不踩门槛。经过国君所处之位时，
脸色勃然肃敬，脚步加快，说话也好像气力
不足（压低声音）。提起衣裳的下摆登堂，
弓着身子，屏住气像不能呼吸一样。出来时，
