子曰：“臧文仲居蔡［1］，山节藻 ［2］，
何如其知也？”
The Master said, “Tsang Wan kept a large
tortoise in a house, on the capitals of the pillars of
which he had hills made, and with representations
of duckweed on the small pillars above the beams
supporting the rafters. — Of what sort was his
wisdom? ”
【注释】［1］臧文仲：臧孙辰，谥号“文”。
鲁 国 大 夫。 居： 藏 放， 安 置。 蔡： 大 龟， 蔡
地产龟，专用以卜国之吉凶，故名。［2］山节：
斗拱雕刻为山形。藻棁（zhu4）：短柱上画着
藻纹。
【译文】孔子说：“臧文仲藏放只有国君才可
