子曰：“臧文仲其窃位者与［1］？知柳下惠［2］
之贤而不与立也。”
The Master said, “Was not Tsang Wan like one
who had stolen his situation? He knew the virtue
and the talents of Hui of Liu-hsia, and yet did not
procure that he should stand with him in court.”
【注释】［1］臧文仲：鲁国大夫臧孙辰。窃位：
居其位而不勤其事。［2］柳下惠：本名展获，
字禽。
【译文】孔子说：“臧文仲大概是个居官位而
不干事的人吧？明知柳下惠贤良却不推举他
与自己并立于朝。”
【解读】据史料记载，臧文仲是个为政清明的
