子曰：“赐也，女［1］以予为多学而识之
者与？”对曰：“然，非与？”曰：“非也，
予一以贯之［2］。”
The Master said, “Tsze, you think, I suppose,
that I am one who learns many things and keeps
them in memory?” Tsze-kung replied, “Yes, but
perhaps it is not so?” “No, here was the answer; I
seek a unity all-pervading.”
【注释】［1］女（r^）：汝，你。［2］一以贯之：
用一个基本道理贯通始终。
【译文】孔子说：“端木赐呀，你以为我是多
学而强记的人吗？”子贡回答道：“是啊，
不对吗？”孔子说：“不是的，我善于用一
个基本道理贯通所学的知识。”
