子曰：“饱食终日，无所用心，难矣哉！
不有博弈者乎？为之，犹贤［1］乎已。”
The Master said, “Hard is it to deal with him,
who will stuff himself with food the whole day,
without applying his mind to anything good! Are
there not gamesters and chess players? To be one of
these would still be better than doing nothing at all.”
【注释】［1］贤：胜于，强于。
【译文】孔子说：“整天吃得饱饱的，对什么
事都不上心，这种人真让人犯难啊！不是有
掷骰子下棋的游戏吗？学点那个，也比闲待
着强些。”
【解读】本章是孔子对当时富家子弟表现的感
