孟子曰：“孔子之去鲁，曰：‘迟迟吾行也。’
去父母国之道也。去齐，接淅［1］而行，去他
国之道也。”
Mencius said, “When Confucius was leaving
Lu, he said, ‘I will set out by-and-by;’—this was the
way in which to leave the state of his parents. When
he was leaving Qi, he strained off with his hand the
water in which his rice was being rinsed, took the
rice, and went away; —this was the way in which to
leave a strange state.”
【注释】［1］淅：淘米。
【译文】孟子说：“孔子离开鲁国时，说道：‘我
要慢慢地走啊。’这是离开祖国的办法。离
开齐国时，将淘好了的米捞起来不等沥干就
