子曰：“后生可畏，焉知来者之不如今也？
四十、五十而无闻焉，斯亦不足畏也已。”
The Master said, “A youth is to be regarded
with respect. How do we know that his future will
not be equal to our present? If he reach the age of
forty or fifty, and has not made himself heard of,
then indeed he will not be worth being regarded
with respect.”
【译文】孔子说：“年轻人是可敬畏的，怎么
能知道后来者不如今天的我们呢？一个人如
果到了四五十岁还没什么名声，那他也就没
有什么可怕的了。”
【解读】“后生可畏”早已成为我们的口头禅，
既包含对年轻人的敬畏，也涵括对青年人的
