子欲居九夷［1］。或曰：“陋，如之何？”
子曰：“君子居之，何陋之有 ?”
The Master was wishing to go and live among
the nine wild tribes of the east. Some one said,
“They are rude. How can you do such a thing?” The
Master said, “If a superior man dwelt among them,
what rudeness would there be?”
【注释】［1］九夷：东方落后部族。
【译文】孔子想移居九夷。有人说：“那里太
简陋，怎么办？”孔子说：“君子居住，哪
有什么简陋？”
【解读】孔子主张“危邦不入，乱邦不居”，他
想居于九夷，寻找一方净土，可见彼时糟糕
