季路问事鬼神。子曰：“未能事人，焉
能事鬼？”“敢问死。”曰：“未知生，焉知死？”
Chi Lu asked about serving the spirits of the
dead. The Master said, “While you are not able to
serve men, how can you serve their spirits?” Chi
Lu added, “I venture to ask about death?” He was
answered, “While you do not know life, how can you
know about death?”
【译文】子路问怎么服事鬼神。孔子说：“活
人还没能服事好，怎么能去服事鬼神呢？”
子路又说：“敢问死是怎么回事？”孔子说：
“生的道理还没弄明白，怎么能够知道死呢？”
【解读】鬼神确能带给人们一定的精神寄托，但
孔子回避了鬼神、死亡等虚妄的话题，反映了
