子曰：“父在，观其［1］志；父没，观其行。
三年无改于父之道，可谓孝矣。”
The Master said, “While a man’s father is alive,
look at the bent of his will; when his father is dead,
look at his conduct. If for three years he does not
alter from the way of his father, he may be called
filial. ”
【注释】［1］其：指儿子。
【译文】孔子说：“父亲在世时，要观察儿子
的意念志向如何；父亲死去以后，要观察儿
子的行为如何。如果守丧三年之中不改变父
亲的处事之道，就可以算是孝了。”
【解读】“三年无改于父之道”，不违父志，
