学
It cannot be, when the root is neglected, that
what should spring from it will be well ordered.
It never has been the case that what was of great
importance has been slightly cared for, and, at the
same time, that what was of slight importance has
been greatly cared for.
【注释】［1］大学之道：大学的宗旨。大学，
古代有两种含义，一为“博学”，一为相对
于小学的“大人之学”。［2］明明德：第一
个“明”为动词，弘扬、光大之意。第二个“明”
为形容词，明德，即美好善良的品德。［3］
亲民：关爱民生。程颐以为“亲，当作新”，
朱熹沿用此说法。“新民”，弃旧图新、使
之新民的意思。［4］止于至善：止，朱子释
文为“必至于是而不迁之意”。此句意即一
心朝着“至善”的目标努力，中途不会改变。［5］
定：坚定。［6］静：指心静，心境不浮躁。［7］
安：安心。［8］得：收获。［9］齐：整理、
