冉子退朝。［1］子曰：“何晏［2］也？”对曰：“有
政。”子曰：“其事也。如有政，虽不吾以，
吾其与闻之。”
The disciple Zan returning from the court,
the Master said to him, “How are you so late?” He
replied, “We had government business.” The Master
said, “It must have been family affairs. If there had
been government business, though I am not now in
office, I should have been consulted about it.”
【注释】［1］冉子：冉有，季氏的家臣。朝：
季氏家私朝。［2］晏：晚。
【译文】冉有从季氏家私朝退朝回来。孔子说：
“为什么这么晚呢？”冉有回答说：“有政
务。”孔子说：“那只不过是季氏家的事务。
