孟子曰：“羿之教人射，必志于彀［1］；
学者亦必志于彀。大匠诲人，必以规矩；学
者亦必以规矩。”
Mencius said, “Yi, in teaching men to shoot,
made it a rule to draw the bow to the full, and his
pupils also did the same. A master workman, in
teaching others, uses the compass and square, and
his pupils do the same.”
【注释】［1］志：期望。彀（g7u）：把弓拉满。
【译文】孟子说：“羿教人射箭，一定要求把
弓拉满；学射的人也力求自己把弓拉满。高
明的工匠教人手艺，一定要用圆规和尺子；
学手艺的人也一定要使用圆规和尺子。”
