季康子患盗，问于孔子。孔子对曰：“苟
子之不欲，虽赏之不窃。”
Chi K’ang, distressed about the number of
thieves in the state, inquired of Confucius how to do
away with them. Confucius said, “If you, sir, were
not covetous, although you should reward them to
do it, they would not steal.”
【译文】季康子担忧盗贼的猖獗，向孔子请教
对策。孔子回答说：“如果你自己不贪财，
即使奖励他们盗窃，他们也不会盗窃。”
【解读】“盗”从何来？为政者“非礼”之故。
这里孔子论述的仍然是“上行下效”的问题，
很有画面感。季康子请教如何治理遍布鲁国
的偷盗问题，孔子是不留情面的，当政者贪
