After Confucius visited the duchess of Wei state, he stayed in the capital of Wei for more than a month. One day, Duke Ling of Wei state invited Confucius to go on a tour. But the duke took the same carriage with his wife and let Confucius take the carriage following them. This trip made Confucius feel humiliated and he said, "I have never met a duke who values a man of virtue the same as that of a pretty lady." So he left Wei state again and went to Cao state.
