Seminar on the Publication of Classics of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture Held in Beijing

Seminar on the Publication of Classics of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture compiled with Lou Yulie, a famous scholar, professor of Peking University and honorary dean of the Institute of Religious Culture of Peking University as the chief editor was held in Beijing on December 19. 

The publishing project includes two parts: one is to invite experts and scholars to complete the annotation and translation of two hundred Chinese traditional cultural classics in Chinese, so that "the words written in ancient books can become alive"; the other is to organize translators to complete translation and publication of the two hundred books, so as to better tell Chinese stories and contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese value to the world.

As an important publishing project in the new era, the famous scholar Lou Yulie serves as the chairman of the editorial board, the famous publisher Nie Zhenning serves as the deputy chairman, and many experts and scholars serve as consultants and editorial board members. The project is supported by the Chinese Cultural Academy and the China Practical Science Research Association, and the Shanpintang Cultural Publishing Agency is responsible for coordination. 

It is known that the book series aim to popularize reading materials suitable for all kinds of readers, allowing readers to get close to the classics, fully appreciate and feel the charm of fine traditional Chinese culture and benefit from it. The variety of books in the series will fully demonstrate the diversity of Chinese traditional culture. The bibliography is a selection of fine traditional Chinese cultural classics, which not only select classics from various schools and schools that readers are familiar with, but also add valuable and rare classics (such as many unearthed bamboo slips and silk books) that have been sorted out and translated. In terms of style arrangement, the series includes guides, annotations (including phonetic notation of rare characters), and translations to solve the problem with reading and understanding ancient Chinese. At the same time, the book is designed to be a 32-format book for easy carrying, and the layout can be completely flat, helping to improve reading experience.

Many well-known experts and scholars, including Chen Lai, Wang Jie, Qian Zongwu, Cao Hongxin, Zhang Qicheng, Zhu Xiaojian, and leaders of Qingdao Publishing Group, China Economic Publishing House, Xinxing Publishing House, and Hualing Publishing House attended the meeting. The conference conducted a thorough discussion on the publication of the book series. The experts and scholars at the conference unanimously affirmed the value and significance of the project, and put forward many valuable suggestions.
