"2022 Global Common Sacrifice Confucius" Selected for the 2022 Chinese Online Stories that Spread Positive Energy Across the Internet

Recently, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission has announced the list of the 2022 Selection of Chinese Online MediaReports that Spread Positive Energy. Amongtheslected was the online livebroadcast of"2022 Online Confucius’AnniversaryGlobal CommemorationCeremony" organized by the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and the China Confucius Foundation, and hosted by China Confucius Website (www.chinakongzi.org) and Jining Cultural Heritage and Development Center.

In September 2022, on theoccassion ofthe 2,573rd anniversary of Confucius' birth, thisonline live event attracted widespread attention at home and abroad. Over 60 media platforms simultaneously streamed the event to global Chinese audiences, and more than 30 overseas online media platforms restreamed and shared the livecast, with over 12 million views. This mediaevent served as a vivid exampleoftellingChina's stories and makingChina's voice heard. It explored how to attract a large audience by spreading positive energy across the Internet.

To date, the "Online Confucius’Anniversary Global Commemoration Ceremony" livebroadcast has been held for seven consecutive years. Each year, the event invovles collaboration betweenover 60 Confucius temples, academies, schools, and cultural institutions at home and abroad. It leverages the participation of more than 70 mainstream media platforms in China to achieve cross-platform and multi-format cluster streaming, presenting apanoramicpresentationat home and abroad.

After seven years of development, the event has become an important platform for the general public to understand Confucius, Confucianism, and outstanding traditional Chinese culture,ahighlight inChina’s efforts tocontinuehistorical heritage, enhancecultural identity, consolidatethe strength of the Chinese nation, tellChina's story, and promoteexchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
