The Ancient Chinese Paintings Museum was inaugurated in Fuyang, Hangzhou on September 6. It is the first museum in China that specializes in the collection and exhibition of ancient Chinese paintings. It will permanently house the entire series of the "Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings" and willbe gradually opento the public.

The "Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings" is a monumental, all-encompassing, and intercultural project that showcases the history of Chinese art. It was jointly initiated by Zhejiang University and the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, who also produced a series of books based on the project. By the end of 2022, the "Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings" had amassed 12,405 Chinese paintings from 263 cultural institutions across the world. The project also resulted in the publication of 60 volumes and 226 books, covering various periods of Chinese art history, such as Complete Collection of Paintings in the Pre-Qin, Qin, Han, and Tang Periods, Complete Collection of Paintings in the Song Dynasty, Complete Collection of Paintings in the Yuan Dynasty, Complete Collection of Paintings in the Ming Dynasty, and Complete Collection of Paintings in the Qing Dynasty.

Currently on display is the Complete Collection of Paintings in the Song Dynasty, which is the inaugural achievementof the Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings project.
