On July 23, the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, the 4150th birth anniversary of Dayu（Yuthe Great)was celebrated along with the fifth Cross-Strait Dayu Cultural Exchange opening ceremonyand the sacrifice ceremony in theQiang Autonomous Countyof Beichuan, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province.

Beichuan is the birthplace of Dayu, where Chinese people from home and abroad make pilgrimageevery year to seek their roots.After the ceremony began, the guestspracticed the traditional sacrificial etiquette by presentingthe flower baskets, readingthe sacrificial texts andsaluting to the statue of Dayu,accompanied by drums and bells and carol sacrifice dances.

With the theme of "Tracing the Roots of Dayu's Hometown and Inheriting Chinese Civilization", this event aims to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, enhance the friendship between compatriots on both sides of the Straits, strengthen their exchanges and cooperation, and deepen Cross-Strait integrative development.

The eventlasted for 2 days, during which a series of activities such as the Cross-Strait minority village developmentsymposium and the Beichuan investment promotion meeting,and the Cross-Strait Dayu Family tradition and precepts seminar were also held.
