From July 15 to 17 , the first Chahai Forum,jointly held by the Archaeological Research Center of National Cultural Heritage Administration and Fuxin city, Liao Ning province, broughttogethernumerous domesticexperts and scholars.

Authoritative experts in the fields of archaeology, cultural relics, museum and tourism in China hadin-depth discussionson the academic value and status of thewest Liao river basin,represented bytheChahai ruins,in the originand pluralistic integrationprocessof the Chinese civilization. Experts also gave a wealth of advice and suggestionson further archeological excavation research, cultural connotation interpretation as well as protection and exploration of theChaihai site.

Throughdiscussion, the participants reached a consensusregarding how to make further progress on the in-depth research, protection and utilization of the Chahai site.They agreedondeeper interdisciplinary cooperation, wider modern technological application, further excavation of the siteand giving priority and special suport to the Chahai sitein the study ofmajor academic issues including the history of human culture, the origin of dry farming in the north and changes in the settlement pattern.
