When Confucius went out from the east gate of the capital city of Lu state, he passed by the Xing altar. So he walked up the steps, turned back and said to Zigong, "This is the place where Zang Wenzhong (a former minister of Lu state) vowed to alliance." And then, Confucius took out his qin and sang, "Seasons pass year after year. The sun sets in the west while the river runs to the east. The general's war horses cannot be seen here anymore. I could only see wild grass and flowers which bearing my worries."
