When Confucius returned from Wei state to Lu state, he stopped his carriage on a riverbank to enjoy the scenery. There was a waterfall running as high as over 300 feet, and twisting for 28 miles. Even fish and turtles couldn't stay there. However, they saw a man succeeded in crossing it. So Confucius asked him, "You are really good at swimming! Do you have any special skills?" The man replied, "I am with devotion and faith, so I can swim across the river." Confucius then said to his disciples, "Remember, with devotion and faith, even the waterfall could be crossed, not to mention get along with people."
