The 9th Fujian-Taiwan Hakka Tai Chi Cultural Exchange Meeting (Yongding Hakka Tai Chi Cultural Exchange)were held in Hongkeng Tulou Scenic spot, Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian province, on August 29.

More than 120 Tai Chi enthusiasts from Taiwan Chen Tai Chi Association, Yongding Tai Chi Association and Shanghang Tai Chi Association gathered in Tulou(a type of traditional Chinese architecture)to perform Chen’sTai Chi39Moves, Chen’sTai Chi Kungfu fan, Chen Tai Chi Chunqiu broadsword and other programs, which drew applausesfrom the audience.

Fujian and Taiwan enjoy geographical proximity, kinship and cultural affinity. Hakka spirit and Tai Chi are cultural symbols shared by people on both sides of the strait. The Fujian-Taiwan Tai Chi cultural exchange activity, , has promoted integration and development of Hakka Tai Chi culture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, enhanced the emotional exchanges between people on both sides, and made compatriots on both sides feel closer in phsychlogical distanceand more amiable to each other.
