At 8 o’clock on August 22, as distinguished leaders and guests attended the Confucius memorial ceremony at Confucius Square, Confucius Museum officially launched the 5th Chinese traditional book-basking convention.

Subsequently, a launching ceremony was held for the preservation & restoration project of the first batch of the Archives of Confucian Family Mansion. Among existing family documents, Archives of Confucian Family Mansion preserved in Confucius Museum, featured with largest in number and richest in content, possess high historical, artistic and scientific values. The archives, with a total of 300,000 pieces and systematic and abundant contents, are precious family historical materials handed down over generations. They take onextremely highdocumentaryvaluefor the study of Chinese history, in this connection, it isof great significancefor the protection of Archives of Confucian Family Mansion.

During the convention, the new book launch ceremony was also released for the Compilation of Traces of the Sage. Traces of the Sage, a picture-story book,themed with the biography of Confucius, has great meaningto the study of Confucius’thought and the spread of Confucian culture. Recently, the Compilation of Traces of the Sage, sponsored by China Confucius Foundation and compiled by Confucius Museum, has been published and distributed by China Bookstore Press.
