The Translation and Promotion Project of the Analects of Confucius for Belt and Road Countries (Thai Version) officially kicked off

On the morning of August 18, the Translators' Symposium on the Translation and Promotion Project of the Analects of Confucius for Belt and Road Countries (Thai Version) was held at Krirk University, Bangkok, Thailand, marking the official commencement of this translation process.

The translation task of the Translation and Promotion Project of the Analects of Confucius for Belt and Road Countries is undertaken by Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies Krirk University Sub-center (THA), and powered by the Working Committee of this project comprising Prof. Liu Lifang of the Academic Committee of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies Krirk University Sub-center (THA) and several Thai experts in Sinology. At the symposium, Thai sinologists put forward suggestions and opinions on the guiding principles of the translation task and clarified the priorities and duties of the next step. This has laid a good foundation for the translation of the Thai version of the Analects of Confucius.

The Translation and Promotion Project of the Analects of Confuciusis a major philanthropic initiative putforward by China Confucius Foundation since 2004, which has successively launched the bilingual Analects of Confuciusin Chinese and six foreign languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, and Korean.In order to promote cultural exchanges among the "Belt and Road" countries, Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and China Confucius Foundation have initiated and executed the Translation and Promotion Project of the Analects of Confucius for Belt and Road Countries, and published five Chinese-foreign language versions of the Analects of Confuciusin Arabic, Mongolian, Spanish, Czech, and Portuguese. Up to now, the project has delivered 11 bilingual editions of the Chinese Analects of Confuciusin a variety of languages, which have been widely distributed all over the world through various cultural exchanges and have benefited overseas readers in their study of the Confucian classics and understanding of Chinese culture.
