On July 20,the opening ceremony of the 2023“ChinaRoot-seeking Tour”Summer Camp in Shandong Provinceand theoverseas Chinese youthmemorialceremony for Confucius weresuccessfully held in Jining, Shandong Province. Thirty-five overseas Chinese young from theAll-GermanAssociation of Chinese Schools came to the hometown of Confucius and Mencius to worship Confucius and immerse themselves in the profound Confucian culture.

Different from the traditional memorial ceremony, this special ceremony not only retains the traditional rituals such as “opening the templegate”, so that Chinese teenagers can fully feel the solemnity of the ceremony, but also carefully includednew elementssuch as “praying for blessings”, which enablesteenagers to write good wishes on the prayer board in Chinese and Germanandtoaccept the gift of praying for blessings, making the ancient and solemnceremony more interactive participatoryandpopular with young people.

Before the ceremony,the opening ceremony of the 2023“China Root-seeking Tour” Summer Camp in Shandong Province,and the award ceremony of“OverseasChineseConfucian Culture Education and ResearchProject”by Shandong Overseas Chinese Federation and the unveiling ceremonyof“OverseasChinese Confucian Culture Research Base”were also held in Jining Polytechnic College.
