On December 8th, the 5th Maritime Silk Road International Art Festival opened in Quanzhou, Fujian.

This year's Festivalincludes12 activities around five main themes: "The Beauty of Empathy", "The Beauty of Nature", "The Beauty of Craftsmanship", "The Beauty of Harmony", and "The Beauty of Dazzling". More than 1600 artists, experts, scholars, international friends, and media reporters participated in the activities from 43 countries and regions, 52 art groups. The third Maritime Silk Road Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition and the 7thQuanzhou International Puppetry Exhibition in China will bestaged alternately.

The Maritime Silk Road International Art Festival is a national comprehensive international art festival with the theme of "Maritime Silk Road", which is held every two years and permanently seatedin Quanzhou. Since 2014, four sessions have been successfully held, becomingan important stage for various countries to carry out cultural exchange and cooperation, enhance people-to-people communication, and inherit and promote the spirit of the Silk Road.
