On December 3, the first Liangzhu Forum was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Over 300 guests from home and abroad attended the event.

Chinese and foreign attendees saidthat the Liangzhu Site is a demonstration of the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization and a treasure of world civilization. The forum is of great significance inappreciating China's ancient civilization, preserving historical and cultural heritage, and promoting cultural inheritance, development, exchanges and cooperation.They expressed the hope that the Liangzhu Forum platform would be leveraged fully, and that people from different circles would use it to deepen mutual understanding through discussion, enhance dialogue and consensus between the Chinese civilization and other civilizations in the world and turn the Global Civilization Initiative into actions.

Themed "Implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, Promoting Exchanges and Mutual Learning Between Civilizations," the forum was co-organizeby the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the provincial government of Zhejiang.
