Large Scroll of Yangtze Spring Scenery Debuts in Nanjing

To explore the contemporary value of Yangtze River culture and introduce more relevanthigh-quality literary and artistic works,the large scroll of Yangtze Spring Scenerywasput on display in Jiangsu Art Museum for the first time on November 5.

Starting from July 2022, 31 painters were organized and conducted by Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Painting Institute for the creation of the Yangtze Spring Scenery. Thesepainters were divided into 5 groups to depict the scenery of Qinghai, Yunchuan, Chongqing, Hubei and Hunan, Jiangxi and Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghao respectivelyalong the Yangtze River. Over the course of a year, the scroll painting which grew 125 meters long and 1.2 meters high came into being.

With creators’endeavour in the inheritance and promotion of the style of New Jinling Painting school, in highlighting the vicissitude and its new look in the new era as well as in combining the traditional techniques with modern form of expression, the masterpiece outlines the tremendous changes takingplace along the Yangtze River and the harmony among nature, people and city with flying colors. The work vividly illustrates the spiritual connotation and contemporary value contained in Yangtze river culture, a significant cultural symbol for the Yangtze River National Cultural Park.

The exhibition will last until November 11th.
