From November 5 to 6, the 8th World Congress on Sinology was held at the Suzhou Campus of Renmin University of China. More than 170 sinologists from more than 40 countries gathered online and offline to conduct academic dialogues and exchanges around "Understanding China: Sharing the Past and Building the Future".

The conference includesnine sets of keynote speeches and five parallel forums, focusing on academic exchange, knowledge sharing, talent training and other fields, presenting Chinese and foreign experts and scholars' rational thinking on China and the world, the past and the future, aiming to continuously promoteSinology research and multicultural exchanges, and promote the study of civilizations and cultural integration of countries under the Belt and Road Initiative. It will inject new impetus into exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

Since its inception in 2007, the World Congress of Sinology has developed into a window of communication for the world to better understand China and promote China to the world, an academic platform for traditional Sinology studies and modern and contemporary China studies, and a link for the world and China to understand, interpret and inspire each other.
