The General History of Confucian Studies in Zhejiang series launched

On August 17, the Issurance Ceremony and Symposium of The General History of Confucian Studies in Zhejiang, a key project of the "Zhejiang Cultural Research Program" and a project of the National Publication Foundation, was held in Zhejiang People’s Great Hall.
The General History of Confucian Studies in Zhejiang series is finally launched thanks to eight-year efforts from its editor-in-chief Wu Guang, a renowned scholar of contemporary Confucian studies, and the young and middle-aged scholars of Confucian studies in Zhejiang, such as Bai Xiaoyong, Dong Genhong, Wang Xikun, and Qian Ming. With a total word count of nearly 1.4 million, the series is organized into five volumes based on the different periods of the development of Confucian studies in Zhejiang: Han and Tang Dynasty Volume, Song and Yuan Dynasty Volume, Ming Dynasty Volume, Qing Dynasty Volume, and Modern and Contemporary Volume.
The General History of Confucian Studies in Zhejiang is a first attempt insystematic review and study of the development of Confucian studies in Zhejiang in the form of ageneral history, tracing back from the Han Dynasty to modern times.Basing it narrative sequence on the rise and fall of dynasties, this series offers in-depth theoretical reflections and substantive arguments on the historical characteristics of Confucian studies in Zhejiang, and the great efforts madekey figures and schools of thought for the inheritance and development of Confucian studies in Zhejiang. Thanks to this series, an academic framework of nearly one hundred Confucian scholars from Zhejiang, including Wang Chong and Ma Yifu, has been formed, and the history of Confucian studies in Zhejiang has been studied in a holistic and systematic manner.
