On the evening of August 13, the opening ceremony of the“SecondSeason of Creation Support Program for Young Directors in Jining” themed “Nihao, Drama”, hosted by the National Theatre of China, Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Jining Municipal People's Government, was held in Nishan Sacred Land, Qufu, Shandong.

At the opening ceremony, the drama Confucius in Jining, ritual and music performance Jin Sheng Yu Zhen(excerpt), the creative dance drama Epiphany of Emptiness, the dance dram Brocade(excerpted from Five Stars Shine upon the East), recitation play Nihao, Drama!were staged among other themedcultural programs.

A ceremony to award the dramas shortlisted in the event wasalso held. It is reported that from August 13 to 27, ten outstanding original plays by young directors, five specially invited plays and six invited works from colleges and universities will be put on the stage in Nishan. In addition, two CNT live works, five documentary screenings, nine master lectures, seven art workshops, and a host of entertaining activities will also be presented to the audience. All of these will help reinterpret the classics from a contemporary perspective and tell Chinese stories.
