Recently, Shandong has recognized the Chinese Confucius Research Institute and another five organizations as its second batch of Research Bases for Strengthening the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation. The research base was established by the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Shandong Province with the support of colleges, universities, and research institutions. It serves as a scientific research and innovation platform that serves decision-making, academic research, and talent development.

The Chinese Confucius Research Institute has focused on the application and development of a Research Base for Strengthening the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation. The base is a key project under collaboration between the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Shandong Province, as well as an important action for the theoretical and practical exploration of excellent Chinese traditional culture and a stronger sense of community for the Chinese nation.

The recognition of the Chinese Confucius Research Institute as a Research Base for Strengthening the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation will further promote research on Confucian culture and the Chinese nation as a community. The research base will reinforce research on relevant, significant theoretical and practical issues and deliver major academic achievements, with the goal of strengthening the Chinese nation’s sense of community. It will be highly important in developing a Chinese-style research system with Chinese characteristics for the Chinese nation’s sense of community and continuously promoting the creative development of the CPC’s theories on nationality.
