On October 21st, the 2023 Confucian Forum, sponsored by the National Social Science Foundation and organized by the International Confucian Association and Shandong University, was successfully held the International Symposium on Complementary Confucianism and National Governance in Jinan.

The theme of this forum is "Complementary Confucianism and Taoism and National Governance". More than 70 experts and scholars from domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Nankai University, Tongji University, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, Hunan University, Sichuan University, University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and Shandong University, are gathered.Discussions will be conducted around issues such as "compatibility and complementarity between Confucianism and Taoism", "comparison of Confucian and Taoist concepts", "comparison of Confucian and Taoist governance concepts", and "comparison of Confucian and Taoist governance methods".

The Confucian Forum is a large-scale academic event organized by the Collaborative Innovation Center of Confucian Civilization and the Institute of Higher Studies of Confucianism at Shandong University. It has been successfully held for eight sessions. After years of development and cultivation, it has become an important carrier for inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and also a landmark conference brand for current Confucianism research.
