World renownedcarpentry artist Chen Yushu’s “Pristine Study”(Jing She) debuted at the 17th North Exhibition Hall of National Museumof China during the Spring Festival.
“Pristine Study”is a Ming-stylestudy, which inheritsthe legacy of the Eastern Han Dynasty and revivesin the prosperous reigns of Kangxi and Qianlong around the 17th century. The simple and classicstudyadopts the exquisite mortise and tenonbinding techniquepassed on for thousands of years. Itis decorated in a minimalist stylethat is neither flamboyant nor redundant. Appropriate unassuming accessories are used to highlightthe simple natural structure, and match the elegant and pristinestyleof a literati study. The furniture set incorporatesmany traditional elements, reflecting the profound significance of the Chinese culture.
