On the morning of July 29, 2022, a large-scale non-profitcultural communication project“Tribute to Sinology: The Fifth SinologyCeremonyfor Global Chinese”was launched online, hosted by Ifeng.com and aimed at the Chinese people at home and abroad. With the theme of “Getting Close to Tradition and Rebuilding Culture”, the projectseeks original articles or short audio videos with rewards, which share non-fiction stories and learning and research experiences related to Chinese culture and tradition, or presentthe performance and innovative application of traditional culture. Mencius Research Institute won a nomination for the sinology revitalization programfor this celebration.

The celebrationwas launched on July 29, 2022, and will last until the end of 2023. The projectis committed to “reviving and paying tribute to the Chinese culturethrough inheritanceand innovation,as well aspromoting mutual learning amongcivilizations”. It focuses on “passing down”, “preserving”and “promoting”fine traditional Chinese cultureoverseas.Through academic dialogues, incorporating traditional culture into modern life, public funding for Chinese culture preservation, and empowering classics with other disciplines, it perpetuates the Chinese culture, strengthens international communication, and presents compelling Chinese stories, thereby boosting the cultural confidence of the Chinese people.
