Second Enlarged Executive Meeting of Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies Held in Beijing.

On the morning of July 7th, the second enlarged executive meeting of the Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies was held at Renmin University of China. All work arrangements of the joint graduate school were implemented and a new situation of cultivation of Confucian professionals in the new era was promoted.

The principals of the joint graduate schools and institutions jointly established by the graduate schools delivered reports on the completion of enrollment. And they reported the establishment of a top-quality Confucian course, determined the first opening ceremony of PhDs majoring in Confucianism and the teaching project to study Qilu culture. All the principals conducted in-depth discussions in the meeting to make overall plans for the next stage.

The establishment of the Joint Graduate School of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies is an innovative approach and a beneficial exploration for bringing together the top Confucianism research forces in China, giving full play to the advantages of traditional Shandong cultural resources and better cultivating high-end Confucianism professionals. The Joint Graduate School bears the important mission of carrying forward and inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the important task of cultivating the postgraduates who specialize in Confucianism. It strives to cultivate a group of academic leaders and young talents so that they can develop and expand the Chinese civilization in the new era, and become ambassadors to make exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations in the world.

At present, the work of the joint graduate school has achieved important results. With the joint efforts of the colleges and universities, the enrollment plan for a hundred PhDs majoring in Confucianism issued by the Ministry of Education has been successfully completed. The activity of “100 PhDs, Studying Qilu” prepared by Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies will be launched recently. The concept of moral education of “A country without virtue is a man without virtue” will be deeply rooted, which will help the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture.
