The delegation of international students experiencing Dezhou activity arrived at Oldman Winery on June 10 to explore the wine-making culture of the old course of the Yellow River.

Oldman Winery, located in the ecological zone of the old course of the Yellow River, boasts superior geographical environment and unique climatic conditions and is recognized as one of the best wine grape producing areas in the world.

In Oldman Winery, also a museum of the Yellow River old course Wine Culture, members of the delegation learned about the making process of wine. With a total planning area of 1,000 square meters, the Oldman Winery is the first wine culture museum in Dezhou and the first wine museum in China on the theme of Yellow River old course. Its exhibition hall covers an area of 500 square meters, consisting of eight showrooms and two verandas, which are dedicated to the exhibition, collection and research of cultural relics of grapes and wine culture. Through various forms of display, it reflects people’s understanding and cultural customs of grapes and wine, especially the splendid wine culture of the Chinese nation for more than two thousand years and the wine culture along the old course of the Yellow River in northwest Shandong province.

“This is the first time for me to visit Dezhou and have a sip of wine at Oldman Winery. The winery is spectacular, very different from any I've been to before. In addition to visiting the cellars, I also visited a variety of wine collections, through which I learned about their history and brewing techniques.” said Adjei-Boateng Prince, from Binzhou Medical University, after tasting the wine made by the winery.

The event, jointly hosted by the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government and Shandong Provincial Education Department, is themed on “Friendly Shandong Remarkable Shandong I Love You” and organized by China Shandong Website.
