子曰：“吾与回言终日，不违如愚。退
而省其私，亦足以发。回也不愚。”
The Master said, “I have talked with Hui for
a whole day, and he has not made any objection
to anything I said; — as if he were stupid. He has
retired, and I have examined his conduct when
away from me, and found him able to illustrate my
teachings. Hui! —He is not stupid. ”
【译文】孔子说：“我与颜回谈论一整天，他
却始终不提违拗意见，就好像是一个愚笨之
人。 退 走 后 观 察 他 私 下 里 的 言 行， 发 现 他
完全能够理解发挥我的看法。颜回并不愚笨
啊。”
【解读】这一章是孔子对自己最得意的学生颜
