Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students Perform Chinese Poetry

On the evening of December 20th, the situational music concert "He and She in Poetry" created by students at the Central Conservatory of Music,including those from from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan,was performed in Beijing.
The performance was divided into four acts, featuringpoems such as "Guan Ju", "Spring Looking", "Missing the North in Night Rain ", and "Spring River Flower Moonlit Night" to connect the stories of ancient men and women's first encounter, separation, longing, and reunion. In addition to ethnic instruments such as pipa, erhu, and guzheng, violin, piano, other instruments are also deployedas accompaniment. At the same time,poetry recitation, Kunqu opera performance, and solo singing were also staged,making it a cross-border performance that blends East and West and connects ancient and modern times.
From the classic poems "Tao Yao" and "Liao E" from the Book of Songs, to the classic poems of Li Bai and Su Shi, and then to Kong Shangren's "Peach Blossom Fan," the famous Chinese poems that have been passed down for hundreds of thousands of years have been transformed into songs, instrumental music.
