The theme for the symposium is“promotion of cultural confidence & self-improvement and construction of modern civilization of Chinese nation”. Based on the theme, over 20 middle-aged and young scholars carried out an in-depth exchange and discussion on the prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization, the laws of the combination of basic principle of Marxism and excellent traditional Chinese culture as well as its historical significance, modernization of material and cultural-ethical advancement and so on.

　　The symposium presented a warm-up for the 9th Nishan Forum On World Civilization. It was intended to the implementation of the significant address delivered by general secretary Xi Jinping on the symposium of culture inheritance and development, and encourage the middle-aged and young scholars to make more contribution to the continuation of the historical cultureand construction of modern civilization of Chinese nation.
