On February 24, the international exchange on Southern Confucianism under the theme “Spreading Southern Confucianism and Promoting Mutual Learning Between Civilizations”was held at the Jintai Art Museum in Beijing.

Those attending the event included staff members from the embassies and consulates of 11 countries, including Venezuela, Palestine, Dominica, South Africa, El Salvador, Mexico, and Uruguay, and representatives from the Young Sinological Scholars’Camp of the International Confucian Association.

At the event, the music-poem-image performance The Past, Present, and Future of Southern Confucianism and the song A Trip to Quzhou provided a vivid and panoramic view of Quzhou’s landscape. The audience was brought to the holy place of Southern Confucianism to feel the boundless charm of its natural landscape and culture. The performances won loud applause from the audience.

The commemorative envelope with the theme “International Exchange on Southern Confucianism”also made its debut at the event. The envelope was made jointly by the Jintai Thematic Post Office for International Friendship and the Quzhou Southern Confucianism Culture Development Center. It has a vastly high cultural value, as it is printed with a picture of the Confucian Ancestral Temple and a picture of the statue of Confucius designed by Yuan Xikun.

After the event, the guests visited the exhibition on Southern Confucianism, which displayed the charm of Southern Confucianism and Quzhou from multiple dimensions, including the city’s icon and sister cities, the Confucian Ancestral Temple, studies on Southern Confucianism, cultural exchanges, digital Southern Confucianism, and the Southern Confucianism industry.
