“Classics of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture: Exhibition on Fine Works of China Calligraphy and Seal Cutting” was opened at the Nishan Lecture Hall before the Nishan Forum on Arts. As pointed out in his speech by Zheng Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Branch Leading Party Members Group and General Secretary of the China Calligraphers Association, Chinese characters are an important tool in the inheritance of Chinese civilization. As a gem of Chinese culture, calligraphy shoulders the mission of recording history, reflecting the times, conveying emotions and aspirations, and expressing thoughts on life. It plays a critical role in promoting the innovative transformation and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

According to Zheng Xiaohua, calligraphy is an evergreen in Chinese art, an ancient and intricate “story of China” that spans thousands of years. He said, “The development of contemporary calligraphy now welcomes unprecedented historic opportunities. We are blessed with conditions more favorable than any other age in history in almost all areas of calligraphy, including the exhibition, publication, and communication of it, whether in terms of its popularization among the general public or the development of a professional calligraphy team.”
