The 2021 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival and the 7th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations opened in Qufu, Shandong, on September 27th. Nearly 200 Chinese and international experts and scholars engaged in debates and exchanges of views under the theme of “Dialogue among Civilizations and Global Cooperation” within two days. 

Promote dialogues among civilizations by following the principle of "harmony without uniformity"

Chen Lai said in an interview that the Chinese civilization has over two thousand years of wisdom about "harmony without uniformity". "Harmony without uniformity" before Confucius mainly emphasized the necessity of pluralism, and Confucius emphasized the necessity of harmony in pluralism.

Chen Lai said that in the face of changes unseen in a century, we must uphold the wisdom of Chinese civilization of "harmony without uniformity ", promote dialogue among civilizations, and remain committed to pluralism, so that the world can avoid unilateralism and hegemony in cultural and political fields, and move towards peace, development, and harmony.
