The 3rd Nishan Forum on World Civilizations

The 3rd Nishan Forum on World Civilizations was held at Shandong University from May 20th to 23rd, 2014, and high-end dialogues were held in Nishan Qufu and Shandong Provincial Library. Hans d’Orville, the then UNESCO Assistant Director-General sent a congratulatory letter. Over 150 Chinese and foreign guests, experts and scholars from 20 countries and regions attended the Forum, including Jean-Christophe Bas, former Senior Advisor of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Bani Dugal, chief representative of the Bahá'í International Community to the United Nations Office, Fred Dallmayr, Chairman of the World Public Forum, and Wang Zuo’an, Director of China National Religious Affairs Administration. Party secretary of the CPC Shandong provincial committee, Governor of Shandong, and chairman of the CPPCC Shandong Provincial Committee met with the attending guests. Themed on "Common Ethics of Mankind with Different Beliefs", the forum put forward and interpreted the perception of "Common Ethics of Mankind", which became a new hot spot in the global academia. The participating scholars signed the "Joint Agreement on Cultivating the Consciousness of Responsibility for Human Well-being through Dialogues among Civilizations", which promoted the international academic discourse power of the Nishan World Civilization Forum worldwide.
