The 2nd Nishan Forum on World Civilizations

The 2nd Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, themed on "Harmony in Diversity and a Harmonious World: Faith, Morality, Respect, and Friendship", was held in Nishan from May 21st to 23rd, 2012.  Highlighting the 10th anniversary of the United Nations "World Dialogue of Civilization Day", 52 high-end dialogues, academic seminars, Televised forums, keynote speeches and PhD Forums were held. Over 130 Chinese and foreign guests, experts and scholars, including Vicente Fox Quesada, former President of Mexico, Jiang Daming, the then Governor of Shandong Province, Li Xiaojie, the then Vice Minister of Culture and Director of National Cultural Heritage Administration of China, Hans d’Orville, the then UNESCO Assistant Director-General,  Jean-Christophe Bas, the then Senior Advisor of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations attended the Forum. The Forum published the "Research Report on Dialogues among World Civilizations (2002-2012)", and adopted the "Nishan Consensus on Protection of Cultural Heritage and Promotion of Dialogue among Civilizations" and "The Proposal for Young People stepping towards the Frontier of Dialogues among World Civilizations".
